The department of orthodontics and Dentofacial orthopaedics is concerned with the smile designing by correction of irregular teeth and jaws thereby improving the facial esthetics. Our department aims to provide an excellent academic teaching program to the undergraduates with all the advanced teaching methods at a peaceful and stress free environment and deliver uncompromised treatment services to all the patients with well equipped modern dental infrastructure and surplus faculty

UNDERGRADUATE TRAINING PROGRAMME

Highlights of the under graduate training programme are:

• Faculty are allotted for Theory/Practical classes and
• Multimedia Presentations are used extensively for theory This helps in better understanding of the concepts and at the same time makes learning an enjoyable experience.
• There is a One to one interaction and discussions with the students during Practical classes and clinical postings.
• Practical demonstrations are given for various techniques and procedures like wire bending, acrylization etc.
• The department library has good number of Orthodontic textbooks prescribed by the DCI for ready reference.
• The discipline of Orthodontics and Dentofacial orthopaedics covers a broad area and includes:

1. Preventive orthodontics: This part of the Orthodontics deals with prevention of orthodontic
2. Interceptive orthodontics: : This part of the Orthodontics deals with elimination of potential irregularities and malocclusions of developing Dentofacial complex.
3. Surgical orthodontics: This part of the Orthodontics deals with all the surgical procedures carried out as an adjunct or in conjunction with orthodontic treatment.
